Meet Dr. Ibrahim
CAROLIN IBRAHIM, DDS, MSD
Board Eligible Endodontist
Dr. Carolin Ibrahim’s aspiration to become a dentist began at a very young age. Having just immigrated to the United States at the age of ten, one of the very first school projects she completed detailed her desire to be a dentist. She would begin to realize this dream once she attended Oakland University at which time she began working as a dental assistant for a mobile dentistry practice that provided care for the elderly. In 2009, Dr. Ibrahim earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Oakland University. Then, she continued her journey and attended the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry where she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery and graduated with exceptional honors in 2013.
Following graduation, Dr. Ibrahim practiced general dentistry for three years in Metro Detroit. It was in these pivotal three years that she found a niche within endodontics which she especially enjoyed and felt challenged by. She then pursued specialty training in endodontics and completed her residency at Indiana University School of Dentistry where she received her Master of Science in Dentistry and Certificate in Endodontics. During residency, Dr. Ibrahim completed research in regenerative endodontics and presented this research at the American Association of Endodontists 2018 annual session.
Dr. Ibrahim is the first to become a dentist and an endodontist in her family. In her commitment to continued personal and professional growth, she is working on completing the third and final step of board certification. This inner drive toward achieving the highest level of distinction in endodontics is mirrored in her desire to provide the greatest quality of care to her patients through exemplary knowledge, attention to detail, and compassion.
Aside from practicing endodontics, Dr. Ibrahim enjoys working as a part-time faculty at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry where she has an opportunity to work one-on-one with the graduate endodontic residents and help them develop their clinical skills. She is a member of the American Association of Endodontists, American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, and Macomb District Dental Society.
In her free time, you can find Dr. Ibrahim enjoying time with her husband Chris, traveling, drawing, painting, and gardening. She especially loves tending to her citrus and fig trees!
